The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed higher on Friday, gaining 73.58 points to end at 6,191.84.
The peso closed at P49.92 against the US dollar from Thursday’s P50. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $738..2 million from $848.93 million on the previous day.
Volume reached 1.07 billion shares worth P5.3 billion from Thursday’s 1.34 billion shares valued at P6.75 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 40 centavos to P3160; SM Investment Corp., up P9.50 to P938.50 and Emperador, up four centavos to P8.04. DMS
