The headquarters of the Eastern Police District was placed under lockdown on Wednesday until Sunday, according to its district director Thursday.
In a message to reporters, Police Brigadier General Johnson Almazan said it was implemented May 13, after 24 cops tested positive from coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“It started yesterday… the lockdown will be until Sunday,” Almazan said.
This is the second district under the National Capitol Region Police Office to be locked down. Last May 9, the Quezon City Polie District was locked down for three days after 14 personnel tested positive for the COVID-19.
Almazan said the district’s standby force will replace the positive cops while they are undergoing quarantine.Ella Dionisio/DMS
