PSE index ends lower, peso declines vs US dollar
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed lower Friday.
The peso settled at P50.76 against the US dollar from Thursday’s P50.445. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $849.9 million from $565.61 million.
The PSE index lost 112.75 points to end at 5,541.95. In the broader market, there were 103 losers, 70 gainers and 43 unchanged.
Volume reached 660.43 million shares worth P4.53 billion from Thursday’s 1.00 billion shares valued at P3.78 billion.
Most active shares were led by BDO down P3.60 to P93, BPI down 15 centavos to P60.85 and Ayala Land, down 50 centavos to P32. DMS
