Aquino’s urn arrives at Ateneo for funeral mass
An honor guard received the urn containing the ashes of former President Benigno Aquino III as they made their way inside the Church of the Gesu at the Ateneo de Manila Saturday.
A funeral mass, to be officiated by Archbishop Socrates Villegas, is set at 10 am.
After the mass, a convoy will bring the urn to the Manila Memorial Mark where full military honors will be given upon arrival.
A carriage bringing the urn of the former President into the burial site, where his parents, former President Corazon Aquino and ex-Senator Benigno Aquino Jr are buried.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar told dzBB that 1,000 policemen, including members of the Highway Patrol Group, were deployed at the Ateneo and the route going to Manila Memorial Park. DMS
