Duterte names Carlos as new Western Command chief

President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Rear Admiral Alberto Carlos as the new chief of the Western Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
His appointment was confirmed by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Tuesday. Carlos replaced Rear Admiral Ramil Roberto Enriquez.
“Confirmed ,” Lorenzana said in a message to reporters.
Carlos is presently commander of the Navy’s Philippine fleet. Robina Asido/DMS
