Army warns business on CTG’s extortion in Nueva Ecija

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija — Maj. Gen. Andrew Costelo, commander of the 7th Infantry Division said the 84th Infantry Battalion and Philippine National Police have warned businessmen in Nueva Ecija on the extortion activities of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) during the localized peace engagement at Science City of Muñoz on March 1.

Costelo said the activity aims to make businessmen aware of resource generation and extortion activities of the terrorist group and to encourage them to report this to the authorities.

“The security sector in Nueva Ecija is intensifying its information campaign on the evils brought by the CTG to all sectors. The business sector must be aware of this scheme of the CTG so we can put an end to it,” said Costelo.

During the activity, 1st Lt. Arnold Quiñon, civil military operations officer of 84IB presented the security situation of the province.
