The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) ended 53.94 points to end at 7, 228.07 on Monday.
In the broader market, there were 147 declines, 66 advances and 34 unchanged.
Volume reached 2.35 billion shares worth P8.7 billion from Friday’s 1.33 billion shares valued at P5.22 billion.
Most active shares were led by BDO, unchanged at P130; Semirara Mining and Power Corp., up P2.20 to P34.10; Metrobank, down P2.85 to P55.30 and SM Prime Holdings, up 30 centavos to P39.50.
The peso closed at P52.18 against the US dollar from Friday’s P51.74. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $1.580 billion from $793.2 million on Friday. DMS
