The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed 22.24 points higher to 7,020.83 on Monday.
In the broader market, there were 127 declines, 54 advances and 47 unchanged.
Volume reached 650.1 million shares worth P4.52 billion from Friday’s 450.50 million valued at P2.14 billion.
Most active shares were led by BDO, down P2 to P133; SM Prime, up 10 centavos to P36.15; SM Investments Corp., up P16 to P885 and Semirara Mining and Power Corp., down P1.90 to P28.90.
The peso closed at P52.41 against the US dollar from P52.315. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines amounted to $726 million from $1.283 billion on Friday. DMS
