Marcos arrives after state visits, says he brought over P804 billion worth of business deals

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. said he was able to bring home over P804 billion worth of business deals during his “fruitful and engaging” four-day state visits in Indonesia and Singapore.

In his arrival speech at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Wednesday evening after arriving from Singapore, Marcos said secured were 10 letters of intents (LOA) and 12 memorandum of understanding (MOU) from 22 investors in Indonesia and Singapore.

“These investments if we put it all together value $14.36 billion or P804.78 billion. This will support our country’s economic recovery efforts and create more jobs for Filipinos here in our country,” Marcos said.

The investments were on renewable energy, data centers, e-commerce, broadband technology, startups, government housing and agriculture, said Marcos.

Marcos said he will give a detailed breakdown of the  investments.

“The Cabinet members will do everything to make sure what was started during these state visits will be worthwhile and be completed so these investments will be felt by our countrymen in the form of new jobs and income,” Marcos said in Filipino.

Marcos thanked  Indonesia and Singapore for hosting his state visits. He and his delegation flew to Indonesia on Sept 4 where they stayed until Sept 5. On Sept 6, Marcos and the delegation flew to Singapore where they remained until Wednesday.

“I reiterate my deepest appreciation to the governments of Indonesia and Singapore for this opportunity to reaffirm our friendship and explore avenues of corporations that will benefit all of our countries,” Marcos said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the Filipino communities, who met with him in the two countries for their continued support  through their remittances. DMS
