President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on Wednesday appointed former Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) member Vigor Mendoza II as the new head of the Land Transportation Office.
Mendoza replaces Hector Villacorta, who was officer-in-charge after Jay Tugade quit as LTO head.
Mendoza previously served as a congressman under the party-list group 1 United Transport Koalisyon (1-UTAK). He is still the chairman of the group, his profile at the Ateneo de Manila School of Law said.
Mendoza was a former board of trustee of the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC), which runs the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) in the Philippines. Jaspearl Tan/DMS
