A member of Philippine National Police (PNP) who is absent without official leave (AWOL) was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Isabela on January 13, 2020.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspect as Thon Vincent Polangco y Constantino, 26 years old, who was arrested at around 7:25 PM by joint elements of PDEA Regional Office II (PDEA RO II) under the supervision of Director Christy E. Silvan, Officer-in-Charge, and local police in Barangay 2, San Mateo, Isabela.

Polangco joined the PNP in 2015 and was AWOL since then.

Confiscated during the buy-bust operation were seven pieces of self-sealing transparent plastic sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, weighing more or less 100 grams, with an estimated value of Php16,000.00, and the buy-bust money.

The suspect will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. PDEA
